Without You

A colourful sunset
vibrant songs of birds
flying back home
with a smile
I turn towards your chair
vibrancy drain from my world
I suddenly remember 
you are not here anymore

Fresh smell of wet earth
accompanied with the lullaby of rain
feeling so content and happy
I turn towards your side of the bed
to make the morning perfect with a hug
I suddenly remember
you are not here anymore

I mechanically eat my meals
purposefully not looking at your empty chair
but after every meal
I absent-mindedly stare at my empty glass
and wonder why you haven't filled it for me yet
then I remember
you are not here anymore

You are not here anymore
now that you have gotten wings of an angel
you have gone far away
there is no need to worry about me
I try to take care of my self
the way you used to do
but I still forget little things
I still save a half a cup of my tea for you
reach for your hand in the middle of the night
but don't worry about me
then I remember
you are not here anymore
